you'll call me crazy ...

Whilst we are on a roll to complete our contemporary home, David and I spotted this wet and forlorn chair on a council collection pile down the road from us. The property was recently sold and suffered some damage in the recent storms.

I don't know why someone would discard such a beautiful chair. ?
The frame is sturdy and the seat comfortable. Apart from the wet and worn upholstery, it's in good condition. Perfect for a new lease of life...

What a fun little project to do between all the work required in finishing the ENTIRE house.
Ba ha ha!!!!

All suggestions, how-to's, comments and links warmly welcomed!

I Wish......

I love everything about Lynn Ban's home after seeing it featured in The Glow. I know, I have shown you this image before.... however it is the image that has added more to my 'wish list' than any other; the zebra rug, the bookcase, tortoise shell, skulls, dark floors, coral and that Vintage Chanel sign!
And now I've tracked one down!!!!

It's in Lennox, South Dakota U.S. $750 + USD. And they won't ship to Australia.
Perhaps that's a good thing...? !
I've been trying to be 'thrifty' lately...(are you proud of me Mum?)

Loving my free Supre jeans / leggings / jeggings...courtesy of a girlfriend who bought the wrong size. They are as comfy as PJ's!!! (Sorry about the boots...I had a site visit!) and my $2 bowls from Domayne (which were $8.95!). Used my Country Road Spend & Save deal for some homeware basics including this pop of orange t-towel.

OK, this stag headed Champagne coaster wasn't on sale but....this gorgeous butterfly paper weight was; $5 marked down from $30! Yay! I bought a few for Christmas stocking fillers!!!

And bathmats were two for the price of one...

With all this saving....the Chanel light might have to stay on the 'wish list' indefinitely.
If you're interested though.... here's the link!

I don't shop ALL the time....

I was having a squizz at my own blog today and realised that I talk about shopping - a lot!
Eeek!
So to prove I do have my thrifty side I thought I'd show you a roadside find. This sweet double cane chair was literally four houses away from me and my darling hubby carted it home for me in the rain!

And in the 'throw out' pile he found a little matching side table too.

I'm going to attempt to paint them glossy black (or, surprise...maybe white!). I've been inspired by Jane at Salvation Jane.
I'm asking Santa for a very basic sewing machine for Christmas so I'll try to sew some upholstery for it myself!
They may end up on my council clean up pile in a few months! LOL! Watch this space!

Oh and BTW the nail polish has faded in an icky way. Mmmm. Going to try Shellac next!
