The time to put the Christmas tree up is looming closer. *sigh*
I have two trees, one black, the other green. The children detested the black tree (above left) in 2010 so I did the green tree (above right and middle) last year.
I'm just not feeling very Christmassy yet and erecting the tree is feeling like an impending boring chore. I'd rather have a tooth pulled. Very unlike me.
If I didn't have J, I might not even bother!
The Grinch must have been here.
So, Black or Green will remain undecided till I find some Christmas spirit.
In the mean time it's all "Baa Humbug!"

Thank you for stopping by my blog. You are very welcome and encouraged to comment. I love receiving feedback! I also love watching a new pretty picture box added to my followers - would love you to join me so I can get to know you too!
Oh I hear you! I am relieved to be going away this year so I can just switch off the whole Christmas thing until the day before! Black or green? I like them both! A-M xx
ReplyDeleteAh...yes, 'running away' would be high on my list if I could. Unfortunately we have a client that is hoping for a Merry Christmas in their new home so we're here working towards it. Maybe next year....looking forward to reading about your white Christmas when you return. x KL
DeleteI know how you feel, I'm also waiting for that Christmas spirit to arrive. xT
ReplyDeleteAh! So I'm not alone! I'm usually one of the first with prep underway. Perculiar.
Deletex KL
I loooooove the one on the very left!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a cheap tree, which MrB's mum bought for us a couple of years ago. It was after Xmas, during the massive clearance sale somewhere. Actually, I'm not sure if we've still even got it, I may have thrown it out during the move... Not that I would have put up a Cheap as Chips tree anyway. I have no idea what she was thinking buying us a tree. Ahhhh. I'm mean. She meant well I'm sure.
I will probably get into it once we have kids, but for now... I'm staying away from them. I hate clutter :(

Children definitely 'make' the magic of Christmas B! It's interesting you should tell this story about Mr B's Mum's gift. I NEARLY bought a tree for the nest-leavers as their funds are stretched with moving out and their trip to Japan next week. Then I stopped myself, remembering the first tree I bought for myself and my first home. They need to do that; when they're ready. Thanks for reinforcing that I made a good decision! X KL
DeleteOh KL. I am not even going to compare your style to that of MrB's mum. LOL! I am sure your saughter would be more than happy to receive a tree from you. I know I would be!!! :)
DeleteShe randomly used to buy junk, for MrB mainly (lucky him). Like $1 slippers/thongs from the clearence section in Target, a computer mouse in shape of a car from Avon, a computer chair in shape of a car racing seat, things like that. That's how she found this tree as well. She gave it to us after Xmas. Thankfully, she's now got her grand children living with her so she buys "stuff" for them instead :)
By the way, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with buying things on clearence or $1 pair of thongs, it's just that I feel it was wrong of her to buy it for her grown up son LOL.

I know the feeling. I'm not even putting a tree up this year and we are thinking of leaving town and missing the whole event! G.x
ReplyDeleteOh My! We all seem to be in-sync. Or more likely, all out-of-synch together! LOL! x KL
DeleteThe Christmas spirit hit me yesterday. I can't wait to decorate and make fruit mince pies with my son. Hope you feel Christmassy soon:)
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you! Perhaps it's just going to 'hit me' later than usual? It's very odd feeling so un-enthused. x KL
DeleteI love both the trees ; ). I love black things but I don't think I'd have a black tree over a green tree because when you think of Christmas trees you imagine them green, so black wouldn't feel right to me haha. I absolutely love Christmas and decorating and giving cards to people but this year I'm not feeling it so much either : /.
