I am so jelaous of those "hidden" curtains coming from above :(
ReplyDeleteAre the floors staying as they are or will they be sanded/polished?
Love the wooden vases in the kitchen!!!

Hello Kerrie-Lee:
ReplyDeleteWhat we love about these rooms is the understated elegance achieved through bold, unfussy schemes and where, for example, white walls and wooden floors serve to give a feeling of unity and continuity.
Thank you for your comments. I get so excited when i receive them and always enjoy reading your thoughts. The floors were wire brushed and then waxed by hand. It was a very labour intensive and tedious job with a natural / matte effect i've not seen before. They look absolutely stunning in reality! All the timber was cut and milled especially for this house!

Sounds amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteWas the floating unit custom made?
Do you know where the chair and rug in this pic are from?
B
Hi B, yes; all the joinery, including the floating media unit were custom made. I'm not sure about the rug; I think it's from Mark Tuckey. The chair is a replica from Matt Blatt.

UPDATE FOR B: The rug in the family room is from IKEA! I love how this house uses high end designer originals with more affordable basics. Clever!
